BATS
Genre: Non-Fiction
Grade: Kindergarten and up
Bats are not what you think they are. They do not suck blood like what is portrayed in the media. Bats are a really nice creature and they are really really small. Bats has many special physical characteristics that allow them to move and fly the way they do. The book continues on explaining the body parts of a bat and its functions. The rest of the book explains and informs different kinds of bats and the reason they are going extinct.
This is a really informative book for children and adult. I will definitely have this in my classroom because it gives the students a different perspective of bats and how they are really not vampires or blood sucking animals. It is interesting and it gives concrete details about all the things you need to know about bats. It gives a picture of different species of bats and where they live. The visual for this book are actual pictures and contains some drawings and labels. Kids are given an in depth look of this animal and promotes awareness on how to help or prevent bat extinction.
