This is a Halloween pop-up book about ghosts. The silly ghosts pop out at night and they are looking for something or someone. Either a place to hide or to hunt, they are either searching for a party or a feast. The silly ghosts blow out candles that are lit and they play spooky games. They are looking for a special kid and now that they have seen you, they hope you will share with them a Happy Halloween.


This is a great pop-up book to share to the students in Halloween. I will not let the lower grade level touch this for it is delicate. I will prefer the 3rd grade students and up to handle it with care than the Pre-k students. This pop-up book is really simple and colorful. The silly ghosts of course pop out of the book and that there are parts that you pull a paper handle and the picture in the book disappears which is unique. I will definitely show this to my students near or during Halloween so that they will enjoy it. It is very appropriate to students and it is not scary at all.

It starts with the story of Native American living and their way of life till the Europeans took over their land and wanted to sign off the new Commissioner of Indian Affairs. Chief Seattle started a speech talking to the European people about how can someone own the sky and the wind for it can not be bought. He states that we are part of the earth and that it is part of us. He explains how his ancestors said that us humans should give back to nature for it provides for us. The earth is our mother and the animals are our brothers. He says that the European settles brings misery to them and to the land and nature.
